This pair of 10 foot canvases were painted live on the National Mall as part of the Care is Essential art installation by the Service Employees International Union (SEIU). The installation featured canvases by 13 local artists as well as panels representing personal care stories from all 50 states and the District of Columbia.
The installation was on display near the Washington Monument from Jan 31-February 4, 2022, after which pieces have toured nationally in support of the Build Back Better Act and related policies.
